Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website, is a television personality as well as a writer and philanthropist. Born in Greece then moved to England at age 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. In the beginning, as the only non-English student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Following her graduation, she became an important conservative journalist who was syndicated. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the politics. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several well-known contributors who shared their opinions on politics, news and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. Additionally she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' list of the most influential women in the media. That same year, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. In 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a journalist who also works as a management consultant. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both her father and mother the bond between them that shaped her. Even in her early childhood she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she is well-known. At the age of 16 she started her studies at her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the debating group Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books after obtaining his assistance for editing.
