Drake and Bad Bunny collaborated for the track MIA MIA (2018) and Madonna and Maluma collaborated on Medellin, 2019 In the year 2020, some Reggaeton stars were dissatisfied with how the genre was moving toward mainstream. However, a younger generation, Rauw Alejandro wanted to push forward the progression. His music often contained elements from different genres as well as electronic dance.
